Working in collage and mixed media, my current body of art reflects on the ongoing construction

of our lives from eclectic sources. From millions of diverse experiences we each weave together

our environments and our philosophies in unique combinations. Likewise, the process of collage

--of culling, sorting, and composing with miniature forms-- parallels the process of composing both

our physical lives and world views with pre-existing forms and ideas. Image fragments taken from

magazines and catalogues serve as a vocabulary with which to negotiate my understanding of the

world and a search for meaning. These works include complex layers of collage, image transfer,

and paint. The compositions often take the shape of architectural structures, interiors, or spaces

with cohesive yet flexible perspective. They offer a world that is fragile, fractured, and still in formation.

The fragments layered together from varied origins afford surprising harmonies and disquieting beauty.
